Call for nominations |
The Wilderness Writing Award for lifetime achievement is in recognition of a living
writer’s published body of work relating to meaningful and significant writing on wild nature, the environment, or the land. Published writers from anywhere in the world are eligible. Nominations are to be in English, but the body of work does not need to be in English. Any member of the International League of Conservation
Writers is eligible to nominate a candidate. This biannual award is a collaborative project between The WILD Foundation, Fulcrum Publishing, and the International League of Conservation Writers and was launched at the 8th World Wilderness
Congress in Anchorage, Alaska (2005). |

NOMINATION GUIDELINES |
1. Nominations must be made by members of the International League of
Conservation Writers for a living writer. 2. The nominated writing is for a lifetime body of work. 3. Submit a descriptive paragraph explaining why this author should be considered for the Wilderness Writing Award. Be sure to state how his or her work helped to raise awareness for wilderness and/or its protection. Or, how this author’s writing affected you. 4. Include the candidate’s name, country, and selected publications. 5. Nominations must be made in English. Although the author’s writing does not need to be in English. Please be very thorough in describing the writing or the body of work in your nomination paragraph(s). 6. If possible, but not required, include a photo of the writer. 7. Deadline for nominations is October 31, 2017. 8. Email the nomination to: patty@fulcrumbooks.com.
